You’ll love this opportunity to provide advice that keeps the natural environment safe and thriving. Because everything’s better with nature. You included.
At Natural England, we advise the UK Government on the natural environment. We’re here to make sure people and nature can thrive. From advising farmers on sustainable land management, to gathering and analysing environmental data, and promoting health and wellbeing through the great outdoors, we love what we do. Join us and you’ll be part of an inclusive, motivated and ambitious team, committed to achieving results for our environment, for everyone.
As a Support Adviser, you could find yourself focussing on customer enquiries, business management or casework. Right now we’re recruiting to a wide range of roles across England. You can specify your preferred location as part of your application, and if you’re successful we’ll do our best to allocate you to the area of work that most suits you. Current roles include: helping farmers reduce pollution and increase biodiversity; advising on protecting habitats from development or industry; providing licensing advice to protect vulnerable species; acting as first point of contact to answer queries from the public and our partners.
To join us, you will need relevant experience, together with demonstrable understanding of Natural England’s important role. Great communication skills, both in person and in writing, are essential. Your knowledge and experience should include providing advice to customers and stakeholders. You should also be comfortable conveying complex and difficult messages to diverse audiences. It is important that you’re highly organised and have experience of working with policy guidelines.
We welcome and encourage applications from all communities and, wherever possible, we accommodate requests for both full and part-time hours and other flexible working patterns. Everyone at Natural England is supported to develop their skills and capabilities. You can also look forward to great benefits including a Civil Service pension.
If you’re inspired to protect and enhance England’s wildlife, and want to work for a leading science-led organisation, apply here.
We strongly recommend that you do not provide your bank account details when applying for a job. If you see a vacancy on Overlooked Talent Jobsite requesting bank account details please email firstname.lastname@example.org
