At Queen Mary University of London, we believe that a diversity of ideas helps us achieve the previously unthinkable. Throughout our history, we’ve fostered social justice and improved lives through academic excellence. And we continue to live and breathe this spirit today, not because it’s simply ‘the right thing to do’ but for what it helps us achieve and the intellectual brilliance it delivers. We continue to embrace diversity of thought and opinion in everything we do, in the belief that when views collide, disciplines interact, and perspectives intersect, truly original thought takes form.

The Director of Student Experience is responsible for a range of key student services provided by the Student Experience Directorate, comprising Library Services, Student Wellbeing Services, Registry Services and Careers & Enterprise Services.  The Director is responsible for driving improvements in the quality of the student experience across the University, shaping the internal strategic context within which relevant functional leads operate and providing leadership, through matrix line management, of institution-wide Professional Services that contribute to providing an outstanding student experience.

We are seeking an ambitious and values driven Director of Student Experience to provide strategic direction and transformational leadership to define and create a culture, services and infrastructure that deliver an outstanding student experience across the institution in line with the University Strategy and our values: inclusive, proud, ambitious, collegial and ethical.

You will bring extensive experience of leading and managing a large and diverse team operating across multiple functional areas at an appropriately senior level within higher education.  Your vision for the Student Experience Directorate will be informed by your understanding of current issues in higher education and your proven track record of delivering innovative, sector leading student based support services

This is an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate to have real impact at QMUL and in the wider higher education sector.  For further information please click Apply and for a confidential conversation please contact Enfys Evans 020 7426 3996 or or Tessa Harrison 07341 773818
