Remuneration £12,534 per annum and Time Commitment circa four days per month

We’re on the cusp of ground-breaking opportunity to join up physical, mental and learning disability services for our local communities. We are a committed to appointing a 7th non-executive director to join the Board to assist us in successfully delivering the planned transformation to create a truly integrated and innovative services.
You will be joining us at a time when we are working towards a merger with Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust in the second half of 2019, with the aim of providing seamless high quality care to patients, service users and carers. The proposed integrated Trust will employ over 5,000 people providing high quality healthcare services to people across Gloucestershire and Herefordshire. The successful candidate will also be appointed into the shadow board of the proposed merged Trust.
In this key role you will:
- Provide leadership, with fellow directors, to ensure we deliver high quality services in line with key strategic objectives of Continuous Quality Improvement, Building Engagement and Ensuring Sustainable Services
- Provide independent advice and counsel on the strategic direction of the Trust and the future merged organisation, ensuring constructive challenge and scrutiny on our current and future business plans
- Role model the culture, values and behavioural standards of the Trust
You will be a highly skilled communicator and influencer, possessing excellent leadership skills and a depth of experience at Board level within a large and complex organisation. Ideally, you will bring a significant track record of achievement as either an executive, a non-executive director in a complex service-provision environment, or, as a GP with extensive primary care experience. There is currently no BAME representation for non-executive directors on either of the partner’s Boards, so we are particularly keen to encourage applications from this section of the community.
